For one weekend only, we are delighted to offer whisky lovers a look behind the scenes at how we craft our Smith’s Angaston Whiskies.


- Starting in the Yalumba Wine Room, you will be welcomed by a Yalumba Ambassador, who will introduce the art of whisky making and its history at Yalumba.

- Our journey will then take us to the Yalumba Cooperage, which plays an integral part in the ageing process of fine Australian whisky. Here, we will meet with our Head Cooper and explore the different casks used to age our whiskies. 

- Following this, we will look at our Old Pot Still in operation. Every few years, we fire up the Still to run a charge of whisky using malt from South Australian barley. Here, we will meet our distiller, Kevin Glastonbury, who will show you the whisky-making process. *Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer a hearts tasting, an alternative Smith's Whisky tasting will be provided in it's place*

- The tour culminates with a tasting back at our Wine Room of 3 Smith’s Angaston Single Malt Whiskies aged for 12 Years and finished in 3 different casks: New French Oak​, Ex-Bourbon Cask​, and Ex- Muscat Cask​. 

The whiskies will be served with a Cooper’s Platter of local artisanal produce including Barossa Valley Cheese Co cheese & crackers, Breaking Bread Sourdough, local cured meats, Orchard Estate Olive Oil, Kurianda Dukkah & Torzi Matthews olives.

$130 per person,
2 hour session. Maximum 12 people per session

Guests will have the opportunity to purchase Whisky on the day prior to the public release. *Purchase limits apply*
